My story so far

I grew up in Pokhara, Nepal, under Machhapuchhre, the “fish tail” mountain.

Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu: A Levels: Physics (A*), Chemistry (A*), Computer Science (A*), Mathematics (A*). 1600 SAT.

August 2026, about 12,000 km later: Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. A math and computer science double major, on a full-ride scholarship.

Projects

DiatoMeter (September 2026 to now): with William & Mary’s Nano & Biomaterials Lab, measuring tiny glass algae shells; 136 shells measured in about 15 seconds. Visit DiatoMeter, source code.

Summer 2026: walden.life, Thoreau’s Walden one day at a time, with 100 entries drawn from 12 of its 18 chapters.

Summer 2026: SATitude, practice for the digital SAT.

Experience

2025, learning on my own: the Algorithms and Machine Learning specializations from Stanford, and Harvard’s CS50 AI (twelve projects).

Summer 2024, Incubate Nepal: frontend developer on Nepalingo, an open-source app for learning Nepal’s indigenous languages. I built the flashcards, daily quiz and activity cards, and merged 11 pull requests.

Words that give meaning to my life

“I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to put to rout all that was not life, and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived.”

Henry David Thoreau, as read in Dead Poets Society.

“She said we are penguins on the ice. We’re not meant to fly, but God knows we can try.”
